I will be hosting my 6th annual Black History Month Program (BHMP) on February 23, 2020. This annual event serves to highlight the contributions, beauty, strength, and advancements of people of color. It also serves to facilitate a bridge to promote unity in the city of Charleston across racial, cultural, and economic divides-we are more alike than we are different. The theme for this year's event is: To Da Caribbean! We will be exploring the connection between the continent of Africa and its subsequent influences on the people and cultures of the Caribbean, and the Gullah Geechee. Visit the venders at 4:00pm!
